Regular's Vs. Newbies

Don't you find it funny that a lot of the regulars are saying that they thought the finale was one of the best episodes, and that the newbies didn't like it because they wouldn't get the jokes. Wake up body!!! The jokes wereb't even that old. I've been a regular since '89 (although i don't think i've seen the pilot) and i thought the show was one of the worst. It had a great storyline (one of the best) but still, it lack the usual Seinfeld humour. It just kept dragging on and on. I think they worried about getting the old character's and references to past epidodes in the story too much, and it took away from the usual Seinfeld we enjoy. It was like a completely different show i was watching, it didn't seem like Seinfeld.

I agree that the last episode tried too hard to "tie up all the zany ends " and this device lacked in the fluidity of a normal Seinfeld episode. I've watched Seinfeld since the chinese restaurant episode and was a religious viewer of the show 'Fridays' on ABC in the early 80's, where we first saw the zany antics of Micheal Richards and the humor of Larry David, not to mention the charmingly sexy Melanie Chartoff, huba huba!!! One of the reasons I was a little disapointed about the courtroom sequence was that I had just watched 6 episodes of the best of Seinfeld on my local tv affiliate, and the jokes were a little too "re-run-ish" for my liking. I think most Seinfeld fans were disappointed about this "re-run-ish" feel the last episode portrayed. Any way, that's my 2 cents worth

I totally agree with you on that one...They were trying to make too many past references, no doubt. They could have skipped all of that. Oh well, I love them anyway.
