Newman was the mastermind of the whole New York Four winding up in jail! Motive: Filled with rage after being stiffed from the private jet to Paris, (as Jerry callously dismissed his honest plea to visit his dying cousin who can only communicate by blinking), Newman created a plan to create an 'evil wind to blow through Jerry's little playworld."

First Newman bribed the airline pilots with free twinkies to simulate a panic dive. Then they landed in Latham, and paid the cab driver to deliver them to the town square, where his cousin, the fat guy, staged the fake robbery! His plan worked to perfection!

Seriously, I had expected Newman to play a somewhat larger role in the trial. Like all one hour episodes, The Finale was spread over two weeks here in The Netherlands, with the cut made right after the Chief Justice's statement that they should seek all possible witnesses to get these four in jail.

At that moment I had expected Newman to give a full testimony and as soon as saw him leaving for Latham, I was pretty sure. However, he only was there as a spectator. I suppose Larry David had no time left with so much other witnesses for Newman, who no doubt would have taken five or ten minutes of the show.
