I just heard on CNN that the *real* J. Peterman Company has filed for bankruptcy. The funny thing about this was that the reporter claimed that the bankruptcy was due to Peterman's expansion--trying to capitalize upon thier "high profile" Seinfeld exposure--gone bad.
Or was it the Urban Sombrero...(sp)?

Actually, I heard it was the economic turmoil abroad, particularly in Asia, that cause J. Peterman to have to file for Chapter 11. The company had moved their headquarters to NYC after the increase in business caused by Seinfeld exposure, so it's possible that the end of Seinfeld had at least a little to do with the fall of Peterman.
