Fans celebrate Michael Richards winning an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, noting his emotional speech and Jerry Seinfeld's reaction in the audience.
Michael Richards just won for best supporting actor in a comedy series (I posted here first)... Sounded like he was going to cry when he was giving his speech. Anyone else?
(And didja see Jerry's huge grin when they showed him and Julia Louis-Dreyfus? She looked fabulous, too, by the way.)

I thought when he came up to the stage in a bit of a rush, sort of tirpping over the steps almost, that he was going to accept the award "in character", but he didn't. Probably for the best because it's a select group of people who understand (or enjoy) that Kramer-esque view of life, so I guess it wouldn't have gone down so well if he'd just stumbled up there, managed a "giddyup" with a waving finger and stumbled off again.
Was it his first Emmy? That might have been why he sounded like he was a bit.. hmm, teary. Apparently he takes his work very seriously and tries to make his character the best he can. But I don't think he sounded that emotional up there, just said what had to be said & thanked everyone.
A little off topic, but I notice Gillian Anderson (X-Files) accepted her Emmy with a huge "thanks" speech - I think it's probably because it was her first acceptance speech. Got a bit carried away there!

Anybody else see Jerry's bit about the similarities between him & Michael J. Fox? I thought it was hilarious.
