Jerry Seinfeld on SNL-The Best of the Game Show Parodies

Last night on NBC, there was a retrospective of the best game show parodies from SNL. (It didn't have anything older than 10 years, but that's another thing.) Lady bachelors are usually alone at home watching TV on Saturday nights, so I got to see it.

One of the sketches was the one where Jerry plays the host of "Stand Up and Win", Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider play the contestants.

I clearly remembered that sketch, but for the life of me, I can't remember anything else from SNL with Jerry in it. Does anyone remember the SNL ep where Seinfeld was the host? It looked a little old, I'd say between 1990 and 1992? Is that on the Web somewhere?

It was the April 18 episode 1992, the episode has been on www.episodes4all.cjb.net but most of the episodes are offline at the moment :( Although Annie Lennox is in this episode, she is not on the online version.

I guess it works with bachelorette too, but bachelorette implies you're still young enough to (want to) get married, no?

BTW: The cold opening was a pre-debate, backstage discussion between Jerry Brown (Dana Carvey) and Bill Clinton (Phil Hartman), so it had to be during primary season 1990.

This was one of the best skits ever.

Unfortunately, Jerry was also involved in one of the worst ever, the one with Molly Shannon playing the Catholic school girl (the one who sniffs her armpits, how can anyone find humor in this?) who liked Jerry, the Jewish high school basketball player. But to be fair, that whole character is about the lamest thing to appear on SNL since, well, gotta be the two guys who dance poorly and hit on women who want nothing to do with them. Jeez, the show isn't even watchable any longer.

Dave (would trade the last 10 seasons of that garbage for just *one* more Belushi/Aykroyd skit.)
