The Muffin Tops

Was this a hit or miss episode? It falls somewhere in between, which has been typical of many episodes this season. It had potential to be really good -- not great -- but it was poorly written.

I think they went too far with the muffin bottoms. Why in the hell would garbage dumps refuse to take garbage??? The writers comprimised their integrity for a cheap joke by bringing back the guy from Jiffy Park.

The ending also cheapend the show when Jerry had his "werewolf" scene. Just scratch your chest. You don't have to have hair to have an itch.

Another stupid ploy for a cheap laugh was when the Tyson chicken guy kept moving his head like a chicken.

The funniest parts were when Elaine commented about the exclamation point and when Kramer imitated the real life Kramer by starting the Peterman Reality Tour.

I thought the Reality tour was hilarious and Newman's "Cleaner" bit saved the Muffin Top plotline, but your appraisal of the cheap and stupid gags of this episode were right on. The Jiffy Park guy was funny ("Well maybe I will take it up with consumer affairs!"), but it just didn't feel right. It's more like something that would happen on the Simpsons, where the same characters are placed wherever the situation remotely fits them. Also agree about the chicken guy--he was stupid and not funny at all. I don't mind George losing his job, but being traded for chicken? It didn't make any sense.

I liked the chicken guy. I noticed he and Steinbrenner have the same office. It's also the same office they use for Castro in "The Race".

i thought we'd have some big revelation on this show, from the promos. i was anticipating the revelation of newman's name or something.

and i think they should resurrect that bald woman george was going out with just so jerry can start singing "take me out with the bald dame...."
