Is it me, or is Seinfeld Season 7 not as funny as the earlier ones? I have just seen "The Engagement" and "The Postponement" on UK BBC2 this week and I thought they were a bit weak, not nearly as sharp and well paced as previous episodes.

I think its better than ever... maybe because I've got a little bored with watching the same old eps on video. The rabbi who couldn't keep his mouth shut and George's facial expression at the end of "The Engagement" were just priceless.

WE've all heard this "not as funny" coment before and as always it's a matter of personal opinion, but I think it is a better measuring stick to ask: How funny was Season 7 compared to the other comedies being offered on network television at the time? That's the sad part of losing Seinfeld - NOTHING has come close to it since its departure from network, even when talking about the so called "weaker " seasons.

If you are referring to the last season, I agree. I think the plot lines got a little too clever by half. The "backward" show comes to mind. I spent the whole episode trying to get oriented to where they were in the steam of time. Steve Oldham wrote in message news:7r7sj7$ol$[email]...

I loved the backwards show. That was season 9, however, not 7. I disliked almost all the other episodes that final season. As Jerry himself has indicated, without Larry around, the stories got less realistic. Too bad. But still good ;)
