Kathy Griffin

On a rerun of Kathy Griffin's HBO standup routine (she's the redhead on Suddenly Susan), she mentioned doing a guest shot on Seinfeld. Anyone remember her character?

She played Susan's old college roommate, Sally, from Memphis, on the episode "The Doll" last season. Here's an excerpt from the episode guide to help you remember:

"Susan's old roommate from college, Sally, gives Jerry a package she wants him to be careful with; which he is, but loses his package in the process." <snip> "Susan's roommate comes to town. She tries to help Jerry out by bringing him back a better barbecue sauce and bringing a doll to the studio for Jerry, which in her opinion, is much funnier than the one Jerry wanted. Jerry has no material for his appearance."

I saw that HBO Comedy special too. She's very funny. Too bad she's stuck on "Suddenly Susan"!

Thanks! I just couldn't place her. I can now see Sally very clearly, thanks to your help.

I think Kathy is a standout on an otherwise lackluster show. Too bad Suddenly Susan was given that wonderful timeslot when others deserve it more.
