George's Brother ???

Apparenlty, in one of Seinfeld's early episodes, George talks about having a brother....

That's what of my friend told me.

Is that true ????

   Once or twice in some of the early seasons, George made off-handed
mentions to having a brother. I've always wondered why the producers never
decided to bring in the character, at least for a guest spot. Imagine:
another Costanza out there somewhere. Of course, maybe the guy is
completely normal and well-adjusted-- which would explain why he never
visits the rest of his family!
   Well, unless something shocking happens in the next few episodes, I
guess we'll never see him!

One last time - George does NOT have a brother! There was once a mention of Jerry's sister, but she doesn't exist either. (Real-life Jerry does have a sister, however.) They considered casting for George's brother...they were posisbly going to have Larry play the part. But it never materialized, and any mention of George's brother is just another continuity error.

How come something be an "error" unless it is disproven? Just because we have never seen George's brother, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. The only way it is an error is if another show specifically states that George is an only child. Even then, it is the word of one epsiode versus the word of another.

But there have been two distinct 'George's brother' references in two
separate episodes.  The actors do not ad-lib (well, maybe Richards) so
the lines had to have been written into the scripts.  I think it is
still entirely possibly for George to have a brother (and for TV Jerry
to have a sister).
