Fans identify the episode where George considers changing his name, discussing whether it was 'Burt' or 'Art Vandelay' and clarifying details from The Stakeout script.
I could be imagining things, but does anyone remember a scene in which George briefly considered changing his name to Burt? (His reasoning was "No one ever messes with a 'Burt'," or something to that effect?) Jerry may have even asked, "Burt? Burt Costanza?" ...but I can't be sure.

In "The Stakeout" (I think), as George and Jerry are trying to think of a good fake name for George, they briefly consider "Burt Harbinson", but decide ultimately in favor of "Art Corevelay", which of course metamorphoses into "Art Vandelay".

Buck Naked (The Outing). I think closest George came to having a nickname was when he tried to call himself T-Bone. That didn't work, which leaded to Koko/Gammy (The Maid).
