1/27 episode.. good one

Despite several factual errors, this one was classic Seinfeld; pessimistic George, bungling Jerry and Elaine, expressive Kramer, and some great lines and scenes..

• Jerry, "Why play man-to-man when you can play zone?"

• Kramer shaking all over, "..some chinnnnn music..", "I own that inside part of the plate ... I plunked him." Kramer's descriptions are so vivid. It wouldn't have been so funny if they had actually shown Kramer on the field plunking the hitter.

• Jerry and Elaine rotating their hands, signifying that 'the wheels are turning'. Fell off the chair laughing.

• The whole concept of Kramer going to a fantasy baseball camp tickled me to death, although I shouldn't be surprised by anything he does.

BTW, Seinfeld is being mentioned in the personal columns these days. In a local weekly, a lady listed the show among things-she-likes. I had half a mind to respond.

Jerry, "We can't go to Isabella's, it's too trendy!" Then bee-lining it to that very restaurant.

Did anyone else note this as an attitude fashionable in certain circles: "I know what's too trendy, I don't like it, but lets go anyway, (and mock it/be amused by it)".

I thought this action, far from a creaky plot device, suited Jerry's personality perfectly.

That was Boo Boo.

No no no! I think you missed the point. The point, as I see it, is that Jerry didn't want to go, but Elaine did, so that's where they ended up. It was actually an insight into Jerry and Elaine's relationship, and the streotypical male-female relationship in general. ("You want to go out, she wants to listen to music, so you compromise; you listen to music," as it was put on a recent Deep Space Nine.)

By the way, does anyone else have friends who "can't not be funny"? I thought that bit was a scream.

Funny enough I end up doing this all the time. At the ultra-trendoid university I go to, I always make fun of the the Biffs & Muffys on campus. But I must admit that amongst a group of them there is nothing particular that would distinguish me from them. And I know plenty of people who go to trend places and make fun of the "superficial people" at the these places all the while being there themselves.

I think that it is funny idiosynchrousy of North Americans at least.

Did you ever notice how awkward actors look when they try to play some sport? Kramer throws like a girl!!! Get that knee up! Detach that forearm from that shoulder! Well, I thought Tom Selleck looked great in "Mr. Baseball", and I later found out that he used to play for USC.
