A KRAMER QUESTION

I know it took Michael Richards a few episodes to develop the Kramer we all know and love. Has anyone ever read anything on Richards development of this character?

First Richards played the character as Kramer would be few steps behind all the time. After few episodes he realised, that the right way to portrait Kramer, was to be few steps ahead everybody else.

Michael: "Kramer came naturally to me. But I really had to stay on top of this guy. Right up until the finale, I'd constantly ask myself, "Is he too big, too broad?" I never wanted to turn him into a cartoon. But I liked how Kramer would go into different characters. I liked how he schemed. I enjoyed when he'd do something to get the others out of trouble. He delighted in everything. He was truly absorbed in the play of his life, in the theatrics of living. Maybe Kramer knew deep down that we're all playing parts."
