A couple of days ago, CNN had a report on the final episode. The report stated that the final episode might be fifteen minutes longer than planned. The demand for advertising time has increased and the spots are going for top dollar, comparable to the advertising time sold during the Super Bowl. So NBC is considering expanding the last episode fifteen minutes so they can sell more time. Imagine the bucks!
As an interesting aside, the footage during the report included clips of the actors going to and fro on the studio lot. One clip showed the actor who plays Peterman walking across the street on his way to someplace. As he strolled across the street, he caught the camera on him, and then wiggled his fingers in a silly hello to the viewers in a way completely unlike the stern, self-contained character he portrays. It was charming, really. What must all these people feel, being the center of media attention merely as the result of their association with a sitcom.
