Oh it�s hard to say since it�s so long ago... I mean waaay back... like enormous amounts of time have passed.

What is funny is that you asked how much a caddie "would have cost *back then*".
How old do you think that episode is? Answer: 6 years.
Maybe the problem here is that you expect that we have rampant inflation, as exists in many other countries? But over the course of 6 years let's figure %2 inflation of a year. So a cost adjustment of about %12; up or down depending on weather you want present day value. You can take it from here.

I don't think that too "many" countries that are so _advanced_ that they have shows like Seinfeld on national TV actually have such a "rampant" inflation.
Since you started showing of with numbers, here's how you should calculate final price with compounding interest (supposing it cost $35,000 in '96):
$35,000 x 1,02^6 = $39,415
not $35,000 x 1,12 = $39,200
If you want to go back from present day value (say $39,415):
$39,415 / 1,02^6 = $35,000 is the price the Cadillac cost in '96.
I'm also not an american, but you can see that I spent one year in your high school and studied Algebra I.
