Jerry's Changes

I know that I personaly use to think Jerry was not a very good actor. I have seen all but three episodes, and I've seen most at least 3 times, but the more I see him the better I think he is. In every episode I know what the line's going to be, and I still get a laugh out of it, but what I really get to enjoy is watching the character's expressions and especially how funny Jerry can be. One that pops to mind is when Elaine is talking about Jarmaine, the sax guy, and telling Jerry something horrible is going to happen to him someday. His expression and delivery of "No. I'm gonna be just fine. But back to your problem..." is flawless. It's hard to believe that a show could get better with age, but that's the nature of Seinfeld (& Simpsons). Syndication, what a beautiful word.

I agree about the shows getting better with age. It seems like with each viewing, I enjoy them more. I think that might be part of the reason why people don't like the new shows as much as the old ones. They've only seen them once. I notice that when I watch a show from let's say two seasons ago in syndication, it seems a lot better the second time around. That's the beauty of Seinfeld. You don't really watch it for the outcomes of what is happening, you watch it for the moment-to-moment reality. I think that's the key to why the shows age so well. If it all hinged on what was going to happen in the end, like many shows, once you'd seen it that would be that.
