Does anyone else out there think that the George Steinbrenner inpersonations should be dropped? The only time I've laughed at all when Steinbrenner is on was when he told George's parents that their son was dead, and all George's father could say was "How could you trade Jay Buhner?" ("Ken Phelps Ken Phelps Ken Phelps":-). Otherwise, Steinbrenner's bits are just a waste of time.

I think that the character is funny and that a cut up of Steinbrenner is good for a lot of laughs, since he is so grandios in real life.

Yeah...I never really thought it was funny. It's kind of annoying, but then maybe that's the point, huh?
Oh come on. Steinbrenner's eccentricities have been legend here in the Big Apple, and to hear him lampooned so directly and mercilessly brings us great joy. A local comic once said that Steinbrenner is to assholes what Jupiter is to planets!
But Steinbrenner has proven to be a good sport. In fact the REAL Kramer, whose "Reality Tour" is full of anecdotes and nuggets, tells us that the Yankees actually watch Seinfeld on the plane! Talk about art imitating life!
I love them to - I hope for more yankee tie ins. the episodes with george and paul o'neil and george and tartabull were fantastic. as was kramers when he went to yankee camp. keep up the yankee tie ins!!!
