Did anyone catch this commercial? It is so George Contanza!! The commercial starts out with him saying goodbye to his date, looking uncomfortable and shy, in front of a movie theatre (Like many Seinfeld eps). You think it's just a nice and sweet goodbye but then you see him enter the theatre and you discover he didn't have enough money for his date. Next thing you see is him by himself eating his popcorn, looking over to the empty seat next to him without a care in the world. It was funny.

I love that ad. Did anybody else notice that the girl he was with actually kind of looked like Marisa Tomei? If they could have got her for the ad it would have been even better!

I wonder how the AmEx people feel about a character their spokesperson created being used to sell their competitor's product.

Dave, as Canadians WE can insult our Newfoundlanders, but you can't. We love 'em. You just stay down there and insult your Puerto Ricans! OK? :-)

Oh boy, do you have your geography mixed up. In Florida, it's the Cubans. (Did someone say Dominicans in Cuban wrappers?) In Texas and California it's the Mexicans and in NY it's the Puerto Ricans.

Can't tell the immigrants without a scorecard. But at least the PRs are legal immigrants.

BTW, Mike? Got a present for ya. Watch your inbox.

Dave transcribed The Chinese Restaurant for my list of Seinfeld Scripts. (The largest on the web).

Kudos, not only for transcribing it, but sitting through it again. :-)

Thanks, Dave

It's nice to be able to say that, huh? Boy, remember way back when neither of us had a Seinfeld web page? I remember the early days of your Lists site. Bare bones. Do you remember the FIRST list? Was it the food?

What sit through?? That was from memory! ;)

De nada. It's what you get for the guy who has almost everything.

Yes, it was food. Someone had asked what food they should serve at a Seinfeld party. And people started adding to the list. Then I realized food played an important part in the series, Then it was clothes. Clothes played an important part in the series, ... then medicine, ... deaths, ... movies. Oh-so many movies, ... then telephones and ... crimes and .. please make it stop!

Well, since Jason Alexander is not a character that Jerry Seinfeld created, and George Costanza is not the character in the commercial, I don't think they have much to complain about.

In other words, it's a technicality or a loophole.

Jason, whether intentional or not, *definitely* plays the George Costanza character in that commercial.

Seinfeld

commercial, I

Agreed. Not only is he being cheap, but he is somehow out with a stunning beauty. Only George.
