(1). 'Dana' must be a male name as well as female, because I daresay girls discover their clitorises on their bodies rather sooner than their freshmen year in high school. I am confident that if I had grown up with a conveniently accessible clitoris, I would have been cheerfully aware of it from the word go. (On the other hand, if 'Dana' is female then I will feel pretty silly. What do you say, ladies? How soon do these things turn up, anyway?)
(2.) I had Sex Ed in seventh grade. I can assure you that if we had had a health teacher who pronounced it cliTORis and if there had been a girl named Delores, a sea of pimply faces would instantly have swung around like gun turrets and stared the poor girl into a brick-red embarrassment. And some friends of mine had Sex Ed as early as fifth grade.
