I've been thinking about Seinfeld spinoffs. I hate to admit this to even myself, but I think the best opportunity would be with Mister Newman Newman.

The Costanzas would get old after a while, all that yelling. George is excellent with his scheming and plotting. Maybe George and Newman together.

Kramer is too wild. He's like Tom Arnold -- an excellent supporting member, but I don't know if he can carry the main load.

Then there's dear sweet Lanie. I've had a brother-sister affection for Lanie ever since she was Julia Louis-Dreyfus back on SNL. I really don't know what sort of series could be developed around the Elaine character, unless it moved to her publishing office, a la "Frasier". But then we'd end up with another "Just Shoot Me" or the horribly horrible "Veronica's Closet." I'm sorry, Kirstie, but your show offends me more deeply than any show has ever done, and on more levels. It offends me intellectually, it offends my sense of humor, it offends my sensibility, it offends my religious background, it offends my background as a writer and a journalist, it offends me as a broadcaster. Bleah! Pa-tooie!

I believe you are all forgetting "The Montefusco's"

That show ran years ago. I believe it ran for one episode. The only reason it ran that long is because the network had nothing ready to fill up the other 19 minutes after it became obvious the show stunk. Johnny Carson made it a running gag for months afterwards.

Personally, I am inconsolable over the loss of "Square Pegs" -- a show which was bright and witty. "Wonder Years" came close to replacing it.

There have been too many shows with crazy relatives yelling at each other, and most of them have been entirely forgettable.
