Posters debate whether Wings is better than Seinfeld this season, with most defending Seinfeld and dismissing the comparison.
Although I have enjoyed Seinfeld this season, especially the recent toilet paper episode, I'd have to say that "Wings" is a better show this season. Barely. _____________________________________________________

Wings is one of those shows that I just can't get into for some reason. Years ago a lot of my friends liked Barney Miller. I couldn't get into that either. Most Seinfeld lovers that I know, and I know a lot of them, simply dislike Wings. A pretty large percentage of them seem to *like* Mad About You. Personally, I think Seinfeld/M_A_Y would be the killer comedy hour on TV. Perhaps Wings should change networks and team up with Home Improvement, another popular show whose audience and Seinfeld's seem to be mutually exclusive.
This is all, of course, IMHO.

How interesting. The group of linguists that I hang out with at U of C, we do the same thing. Simpsons, then we all talk during Wings [paying attention for the one funny line in each episode] and then Seinfeld. Then we go out to drink. [Frasier is sooooo boring.]
Wings has the plus of having one of the actress from It's/Making a Living.

Please, not HI. Although I won't go so far as to say Wings is better than Sienfeld, I do enjoy watching it before the Sein and it's beginning to annoy me how so many people slam on those who have posted they like Wings. I've also watched MAY a couple of times and, quite frankly, think it's a bore. Maybe I have to get married before I like it, but I doubt it. For mindless humour I turn to The Simpsons.

It has always seemed to me that "Wings" running as long as it has is evidence that someone has some pretty incriminating photographs of the right people. On the other hand, "Mad About You" _is_ funnier than "Seinfeld" this season. [If only there were less kissy-face...]
The only reason Wings is on is so I don't have to watch 30 minutes of commercials just before Seinfeld. The funniest thing on Mad... was Fran and Mark but now that they've split up life will be a little too boring. Yes too much kissy face. And lets see more of that dog, he's funny too.
Wings is lame.

No way! :-) Someone somewhere needs to do studies on personality types as indicated by clusters of favorite TV shows. For example, this season my favorites are: Northern Exposure, Home Improvement, Grace Under Fire, Seinfeld, Frasier, X-Files, and ST:TNG. And Married With Children, and Are You Being Served? on the local PBS station. I'm assuming definite schizoid tendencies. :-)
You know why I dislike Wings so much? USA network airs re-runs at 11, 11:30 pm here and my housemate insists on watching, which cuts into Letterman, who is God. It is practically impossible to be as stupid as Lyle without having some sort of chemical imbalance/mental problem/whatever. I've gotten tired of that, Brian's womanizing, and Roy's nastiness pretty fast. I think it's time to work out a deal with my housemate.

What do they pair with Are You Being Served? on your PBS channel? We were getting May to December (great), then Good Neighbors (grows on you), and we just switched to Keeping Up Appearances or something (one episode, great). You'd have to be schizoid just to keep up with them. Personally, I'd vote for Seinfeld, Frasier, DSN, the Simpsons, and AYBS?, in no particular order. Martin

In Boston AYBS was till this week on *3* times a night, at 7, 7:30, and 11, so it was paired with itself. Doubly so because the 11pm was a repeat of one of the earlier ones. "Are You Being Served" is a show on PBS set in a retail department store. It has a good ensemble cast that also starred in a follow up series that I forget the name of. For the record, I love MAY, Seinfeld, and Fraiser (especially Niles). Nikky

Don't take this the wrong way...it's just that that's the reason I find Seinfeld so pathetically NOT funny anymore...because it's no longer about EVERYDAY things (i.e. waiting for a table or visiting your parents) -- it's about the wacky, kooky, zany misadventures of Jerry and his pals, and therefore nothing more than your basic sitcom.
