the next seinfeld looks bad

c'mon, a talk show in kramers apartment. i thought seinfeld was trying to rebuild what it has lost this season. this plot looks like the lamest, most farfetched yet. the only thing saving seinfeld is the great one-liners and the chemistry between the characters. the stories have been pretty lame for the past year. dan

did you read my entire post? i said the plot sounded bad. hopefully the acting and one-liners will make it a good episode. i really want to be pleasantly surprised. i'm saying the episode will be bad, i'm saying the plot looks bad. don't get me wrong. dan

Yeah! Why don't they get back to the great shows they used to produce?

My personal fave is the one where they all go to Hawaii and lose that little totem pole. I also like the one where Jerry, Kramer and George are all playing football and Elaine runs in to Jerry's apartment just as the ball is being thrown in her direction and she says, "Oh my nose! Oh my nose! Oh my nose!....." Oh yeah! And I also like the one where Elaine wants the guys to think she has a boyfriend and so she gets the operator to call her at Jerry's and she tells them she's talking to a guy named George Glass. Oh! And I also like that one where Elaine discovers she's allergic to Tiger, the pet dog. Oh! And that other one where.........

I doubt even Larry David could pull a plot line (talk show in Kramer's apt.) like that into anything sensible or funny. My theory is that they are so low on ideas that they are resorting to the most farfetched and rediculous plot lines out there in hope of coming up with something "classic". I wonder if NBC will tout this new episode as being "In the tradition of..." and act like it's another classic episode when it's not. I am always amused by NBC when they do that. Remember last year when they touted "The Pothole" as being some revolutionary episode that will blow everyone away? Ha! It acctually turned out to be another bomb.

Interesting. When I read the new ep would involve a talk show in Kramer's apartment, my mind whirled with all of the comedic possibilities that this plot could include. Doesn't sound the least bit lame to me. I can't wait to watch it tonight.

And who the hell says a plot has to make sense?  Because it's
so unlikely for someone to find a talk show set in a dumpster,
that makes the show unfunny?  Please.  The zanier the better.

actually i hope it will be postive. why would i look bad if the episode was good? i said i hoped it would be good, but the idea of kramer find a talk show set in a bumpter doesn't make much sense. don't get mad, i like seinfeld a lot, and always will. i am optomiistic that seinfeld will eventually move out of a slump. the great thing about seinfeld is that they are the only tv show that could pull off a plot like this one. dan

And they did. Masterfully. Easily the best episode so far this season.

I think what made it for me was that there is a group of people out there that think nothing of spending their/mine/your money to save animals like squirrels with broken legs. This part of the show makes for great commentary on how wacked some people's priorities are.
