Okay, okay, I'm *finally* stricken with mild curiosity about Ron "5150" Echeverri's nom de plume many months after he stopped using it. Because I noticed in today's "Seinfeld" re-rerun (IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT TWICE ALREADY, IT'S STILL SORT OF NEW TO YOU!) when Uncle Leo gets busted for shoplifting, the security guard shouts "Code 5150! Swarm! Swarm!"
Now, all along I had assumed that "5150" was the police code for an escaped psychopath or a gangland-style murder or something else equally fun, and hadn't considered the possibility that it was something as lame as candyland-style shoplifting.
So anyway, I poked around on the Web looking for "5150" references. Besides dozens of Model 5150 mounting brackets and quick-release snap-on connectors, and NASA's Non-Disclosure Form 5150, I found:
Aaaiieee! Ron Echeverri is in charge of safety at the Dairy Queen Brazier Burger, the only burger cooked over burning brass!
Aaaaiiieeee! Ron Echeverri went to BOCES! He's gonna beat me up and take my lunch money unless they give him suspension for making that ninja star with tin snips in shop class!
Aaaaaiiiieeeee! Ron E. is trying to eliminate the genteel port of Ordinary Truck Sanity!
Aaaaaaaiiiiiieeeeee!! Ron E. is incapable of writing a short sentence in Italian!
Aaaaaaaaiiiiiieeeeeeee!!! Ron Echeverri is America's Breadbasket, designed by Peter Graves, and he'll self-destruct in five thousand one hundred fifty seconds!
Aaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiieeeee!!! RonE is a brand of snowboard! I'm gonna have to ride him while drinking a Starbucks Frappucino and listening to Green Day in the mid-nineties and being a LAMAR!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!! RonE thinks spaceships are blunt instruments! And he uses a backslash in "AND\OR"! He parks his spaceship at the "HYNES CONVENTION CENTER\ICA" subway stop! And he can travel through time 'cause they renamed it "AUDITORIUM" a couple years ago!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!! HE'S LIKE A MASON ONLY HE ROTATES! AND REVOLVES! AND MAYBE EVEN OSCILLATES!
Oh, wait. Turns out it's a Van Halen song (which Black Sabbath recorded a "cover" of), and it's also the name of Van Halen's recording studio, and it's also the model number of a guitar and amp combo YOU can by which was personally designed by people working from Eddie Van Halen's suggestions.
I don't know who this Van Halen guy is, but it's probably just a made-up name like "Monty Python" or "Arthur Treacher".

Sorry, Ron, I was hoping "5150"
was something cool like a
police code for "escaped psychopath"
and not the title of some disco song.
