Mythological References

I am writing a paper for my mythology class about mythological references in pop culture and I got to thinking about our favorite show. Can anyone think of any mythological references on Seinfeld? I haven't been able to think of any but with such a clever show I figured there must be at least one. Thanks in advance to everyone.

Well, I'm not sure if this is mythological, but do you remember when George was trying to combine sex, tv, and food? Jerry calls him Caligula, and I think that is a mythological reference. I think the episode is called "The Blood". It is also the one where Kramer is making sausage and gives Jerry blood.

I think more properly it is a movie reference to the Penthouse production of "Caligula" with Malcolm MacDowell about the Roman Emperor Caligula. Not saying that the historical reference is wrong. But, the movie seems to fit better in the context. ---------- In article , Jonathan wrote:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was a reference to Deadelus and Icarus, who escaped from an island (Crete?) but one of them flew too high and the wax holding his wings on melted and he fell into the sea and died.

In "The Bizarro Jerry," Jerry *sort of* mentions mythology. He says his new girlfriend with the "man hands" is like something out of mythology. "The hands of a *man*. It's like a creature out of Greek Mythology, I mean, she was like part woman, part horrible beast."
