Slippery Pete is a parody of...

Did anyone else think that Slippery Pete was a parody of Jean Reno's character in the movie The Professional (also with Natalie Portman) ? It's exactly the same. He has the same moustache and slick hair, but the big giveaway was in The Professional, he only ever drinks milk! The milk drinking in Seinfeld was too obvious for him to just be drinking it, by the way he gripped the glass in his fist, etc. In the movie Jean Reno plays a hitman. Check out the movie, I'm sure you'll agree! It is just too much of a coincidence.

Hmmm. Interesting. It didn't occur to me. I saw "The Professional" a few years ago.

I thought that the planning scene at the diner could be an homage to Quentin Tarantino's "Resevoir Dogs".

Any other opinions? It seemed too familiar to me to not be a reference.

I thought the planning scene was a reference to the planning scene in Mission: Impossible, where Tom Cruise is introducing Ving Rhames and Jean Reno (which might explain the Slippery Pete/Professional connection). In my opinion The Frogger episode was the funniest of the season, and one of my favorites.

Teehee! Since you put it that way, we can argue that the scene from RD was a Seinfeld parody!

I'm thinking more along the lines of George's lines saying "Slippery Pete, you're the best electrician, Shlomoe, you're the best driver." I forget if the driver's name was Shlomoe, I'm just using the first name that I thought of. I checked Resevoir Dogs to satisfy my own curiosity, and RD looked more like a parody of Seinfeld than the other way around. But while watching, it hit me, "The Usual Suspects". Now I have to check that movie.

Fair enough. But just to deconfuse myself, I shall rent "Resevoir Dogs" again and check. I'll post the results of my check. It's gotta be some movie though. It seems so familiar.
