Two Seinfeldian elements jumped out of the season premiere of ILYK this evening:
(1) A Carol Leifer appearance (as the Realtor).
(2) During a break-up, someone says, "You are not giving me the old, 'It's not you, it's me routine.'"

I really liked this show last season, and I thought it showed a great deal of promise, but last night's episode, while it had some moments, was a bit too cartoonish, a little over the top with the siamese twins angle and the ease with which the model described her transition from model to trophy wife,among other things, I just hope that episode was an aberration and it gets back to at least trying to be the west coast answer to Seinfeld that it was shooting for last season.

I don't think it works to try to be a clone of seinfeld. In order to be a good or great show, the show has to be something totally new and original in itself. The only way a show will be good is if it has no serious moments, ever.
