Please help...

OK, I know this will sound like the absolute lamest question, but it's been driving me nuts for a very LONG time --

In the episode where Frank Costanza recounts his 'horrific' experience as a company cook in the military, there is a haunting musical piece playing in the background. It plays both during the military flashback, and also at the end of the episode when Frank flips out and makes sure no one eats the food. Now I've heard the piece in other shows before, but for the life of me, CAN NOT FIND OUT WHAT IT IS!!! Please help put me out of my misery and let me know what it is! Thanks in advance.

I think it was the music they used in "Platoon"

If I remember correctly, the music is from "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber.

I think it's the music from the Oliver Stone Vietnam movie "Platoon," or something written to sound like it.

It's "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber -- NOT written for "platoon," but used in it

I am not sure of the name of the work, but it was featured throughout the film "Platoon".
