Munk's

Can anybody please tell me were Munk's is located I know that it is not actually Munks but the bulding is the same and I would like to stop by on my trip to NY this weekend. Thanks.

Careful Dave, I just got flamed for my crusade to correct 'alot' a lot. Yes, you're right, in the show, it is spelled "Kramer", probably the most common spelling...it's from the German. My name is spelled "Kramar", and while my name is from the Czech (Bohemian), it is also a surname found in Sweden.

MONKS is in NYC....110 and B'way,,I think...never took the trip over there myself...I presume that some outside shots ,,stock footage is NYC while other shots are of the NYC lots of the California film studios...

monk's is a tv show restaurant. it does not really exist. however, the shots of the monk's exterior are of "tom's restaurant" on the corner of Broadway and 114th (i think, somewhere on BWAY between 111th and 114th on the East side of the street). the interior, though, is very much different. it is a greasy spoon diner frequented by Columbia U. Students. there are a few seinfeld pictures posted there.

Well, the inside of Monk's is in Los Angeles, located in the same soundstage as Jerry's apartment.

The exterior shots are from New York, and the restaurant is called, if I remember correctly, "Tom's Restaurant".

Tom's Restaurant was the basis for Suzanne Vega's song "Tom's Diner".
