Fireplace Mantle

The episode names escape me, but did anyone catch this discrepancy? In the episode where Jerry goes on PBS for the fundraiser, his girlfriend gets mad because he didn't save her birthday cards and he tells George it's not like he has a mantle. George agrees and says if his parents had had a mantle, he'd be a whole other person.

Then in The Statue, he says he broke his parent's status when he grabbed it off the mantle.

No big deal, but I was just wondering if anyone else caught this.

I did, I thought it was funny. I recorded it along with the rest of my collection.

Interesting. Did Frank and Estelle live in the same house the whole time George was growing up? I suppose it's possible that they moved at some point.
