Elaine was dating a man whose name happened to be "Joel Rifkin" at the same time the REAL "Joel Rifkin" (a NY serial killer) was in the news. It caused her lots of grief, so she tried to get him to change his name - but they couldn't agree on a new name, so (this is Seinfeld, remember?) they broke up.
It was a great episode!
Ah, but the point you are all missing is that the nipple episode was inspired by a photo of JLD in Celebrity Sleuth, which featured JLD's nipple. That photo was a still from an early episode. Therefore, she REALLY SHOWED A
