What the hell is going on with JA's hair? (I'll call him George from now on as that's who I know him as) I just saw him in Ron Howards The Paper and he was nice and bald, and sporting a dreadful 'tache, yet in Dunston Checks In he wears a wig. I can't imagine he's bothered about his lack of folicals as it's been mentioned on the show loads. So if anyone's seen him in other stuff please inform me whether it was avec rug or cabriolet. The guy might have a problem and if we don't help who else will?
Jason is an actor, as I'm sure you are aware, and when an actor takes on a role, he or she might also change his/her physical appearance to be more in accordance with that role. It might not even be a choice they themselves made, but one that was asked of them by the director of the movie/tv show/play/whatever. I doubt if Jason's various hair/moustache combinations have anything to do with his being "bothered by his lack of folicles." Actors and the characters they play are usually entirely separate beings, contrary to what some people think.
I think if you have nothing better to do than to worry about Jason Alexander's hair you have a pretty sorry life. He is an actor....get over it. Worry more about your own hair.
I worry about a lot of things, and yes my own hair does play on my mind. My point was that Jason Alexander might change his hair but manages to play pretty much the same charecter in everything I've seen him in, that charecter is George and he does it very well. I mean come on it's not like the guy is Robert DeNiro here.
I remeber a story about Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man (which i noticed was the source of a gag in The Doorman). He used to run around the central park reservoir before shooting so that he looked out of breath. When his co-star, Laurence Olivier, found out about this he told Hoffman that if he wanted to look tied he should try acting. My point is, and I do have one, that it makes no difference whether Alexander wears a wig in terms of his charecter's development if your a good enough actor the audience shouldn't notice the actor only the character. The fact that I saw him as George rather than the guy he was playing may be due to over exposure to Seinfeld but I don't think there'll be any oscars finding their way onto his mantelpeice too soon.
Fianly isn't the whole point of this newsgroup to discuss every minute detail of our favorite show? Like I said orignaly if we don't worry about these things who will.
It probably depends on the part. I haven't seen Dunston Checks In, but maybe the roll called for somebody who had hair, and JA being bald was forced to wear a toupee to fit the part. Actors often have to change their appearance to fit certain rolls. Have you ever seen Mrs. Doubtfire?
