Mob psychology?

Here's a strange phenomenon. Last night (2/3/94) I must have been the first person to post to this newsgroup after watching the show. I errantly labeled my post "2/4/94 episode," apparently forgetting the actual date. By the next day, there were at least 3 different threads with "2/4" in the subject line, and only 1 was clearly a simple renaming of my original thread. Is this a comment on American tendencies to go along with the crowd regardless of the crowd's direction?
