Jerry was "just trying to keep up" and, not being much of a dirty-talker, formulated an utterly non-sensical retort.

I believe the episode is called, "The Panty Remark" similar to the episode titled, "The Pantie remark."
I think the epiosde was called The Cheever Letters.

The Cheever Letters was the ep. In the ep, I think Jerry said that because he couldn't think of anything else to say when the woman he was with starting talking dirty. There is a theory that remark refers to Jerry going out with Shoshanna who is much younger than Jerry. But that ep came out in 1992 and Jerry and Shoshanna did not meet until 1993.
