Viewers recall Larry David's appearances on Friday sketches, including one about a Hasidic man offering money for sex and another about Hasidic secret agents called 'The Men From Matzah'.

What got me was how much he looked like a guy that was one of the regulars on Friday's. So, I assume it's the same guy. The only sketch I remember him in is one where there is a married couple in a house. The doorbell rings. They answer and it's Larry David? dressed as one of those Jewish guys with the curls down the sides of his face with a limo parked outside. He offers them 1 million dollars for a quickie with the wife. The husband says it sounds great and tells his wife to go for it. The wife coils back because she doesn't like how lightly the husband is taking their sexual relationship. Then, the neighbor's wife comes over half collapsed, half in ecstasy, says that she had just earned her million and tells the wife to do it because "you know how orgasms gets stronger and stronger up to that one point and then fall away? With him, he took me to that point and beyond, higher and higher with tremendous wave after wave...(paraphrased)" So, the wife now wants the guy badly. The husband feels threatened and says that the wife can't. They repeat the arguments that the other had said in round one. I forget how it ended. Does that jog anyone's memory?

BTW, the Jewish character is based upon me.

He was also in a series of sketches with Bruce Mahler called "The Men From Matzah" where they were Hasidic secret agents. They fought against GOYIM who were led by Tab Hunter. They had weapons such as razor-edged matzahs.

BTW, Mark Blankfield has a part in the new Mel brooks movie as a blind man, similar to the un-PC part he had on the short-lived TV show GOOD AND EVIL.

I don't think I have the eloquance to describe Blankfield's hop head druggist. It is one of the few comedic pieces that I can replay in my head and end up roling on the floor. With Kramer's mad chlld playing with toy soldiers in a front yard, I would say that MB's druggist was the funniest running skits on Fridays.

Ok, I know I'll get flamed but : A straight, and no nonsense male person enters what looks like a corner drugstore. It is empty except for the druggist. Instead of being a nice middle aged man, the druggist is a pop eyed wired, young man who keeps spilling pills and bottles all over the place. MB has no discernable trainof thought, constantly forgetting where in the conversation he was last and asking the customer if he can help him, even though this point has been passed several times. It seems that Marks brain has been replaced by that TV commercial fried egg. Each time they did this skit, Blankfield would find little nuggets of drugged out behavior that weren't in the former skits. Once, he began to fill the prescription and jerked to a stop, saying, "no, no, this is dangerous stuff, WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME FOR THIS? ----- (holding his head and pressing his forehead tightly) noooo, noooo, nooooo" and then snap, he stands up straight and asked, "Can I help you?". Or While the customer is relating what he wants, MB ducks down and watches as an imaginary jet plane has just whooshed over their heads. He looks up at the customer and says frantically, "Did you see that? I mean, DID YOU SEE THAT?" and then snaps upright, and murmurs," no, of course, you didn't see that. I must be losing my mind. Yes, that it. It was just my mind. Can I help you?"

The success of this portrayal was the physical nuttiness of Blankfield's actions. I don't think anyone can come close to verbally describing how funny this was. But I guess I am fool enough to try.

Do you remember the one where Peter Fonda was the host? He came into the store as Easy Rider needing some medication for his "roids" and MB says "These are very dangerous drugs, we have to keep them safe." Then he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bottle. "What luck! These are your drugs." Then he swallows them. "Sorry. All out." He runs around dodging imaginary fire-balls. Fonda convinces him to go with them as the Nicholson character. In the campfire scene they turn him on to joint.

Do you remember the Trans-fibians, the people who think they are fish?

Oh my god. Did I miss one of the funniest entries of this running skit? It certainly appears so from your description. I am cracking up just trying to imagine the scenario you describe.

Oh my god, doubled. No, I don't remember this. Please tell me about it.

Of course it was entirely in the delivery, but my favorite Kramer line was,

"'S refreshing!"

(explaining for the umpteenth time why he was convinced that Jerry wanted a Junior Mint)

Robert,
This exchange between Jerry and Kramer is available, along with
others
from the junior mint episode, in the alt.binaries.sounds.misc group. They
are Sun format .au files. I also have these files in .voc format for the
PC
and can post if desired. There is also a program called SOX which can
convert
from one sound format to another. It can be obtained by anonymous ftp at
	sounds.sdsu.edu in the /pub/soundconversion directory (I think that's what
it
is called, though you should be able to find it easy enough). I'll be
posting
other sound clips from seinfeld in the future.

What I liked about this line was that when Jerry made fun of Kramer's little joke, Kramer started laughing......almost like it was an outtake..

This was the first time I had seen this episode and my seven year old son and I were laughing all the way through it. He didn't get all the jokes but he laughed and laughed....Everytime Kramer enters jerry's apt he and I both laugh......

I still can't believe this show is on NBC.......

All right-one of the funniest lines I've heard...

<In Limo> George-"Let's go to the city, no one gets shot in the city!"

Jerry-"Right George, no one gets shot in the city"

Btw, for anyone in Chicago(or any place there is an NBC tower), go to the NBC tower, they have LOTS of great shirts.
