Seinfeld this season has degraded so much from two years ago that I can barely stand to even watch the new episodes. Last night's was pure TV land garbage. Comparing "The Soup Nazi", which aired in syindication that same day, to "yada" is like comparing "The Soup Nazi" to a Suddenly Susan episode. Elaine is an unfunny whore. Jerry doesn't have a brain anymore. George's nueroticism is non-exsistant. Kramer isn't creative anymore- he's ludicrous. Somebody ought to go out to L.A. and beat up the writers, for they have destroyed the greatest sitcom ever. The show has completely lost it's comic genius. Anyone with a brain can compare old episodes like "The Switch", "The Handicap Spot", "The Limo" and see that the "show about nothing" has become a show about SOMETHING, and therein lies the problem. A show with usual, sitcom plots. Usual sitcom jokes. Usual 90's sitcom NBC-Must See TV cliques'. Atleast will still have the re-runs.

If you did not laugh during this show than I suggest you DO stop watching. It doesn't get much funnier than that. You can base your review on many different aspects of the show, but what it comes down to is: Did you laugh? This was the best episode of the season and in the top 10 of all time. I just can't see how you could like past seasons but not like this one, it's FREAKIN' ME OUT! I know I can't change your opinion, so I hope you stop watching the show and find something you do enjoy. I watch the old Seinfled episodes everynight. I love them. I laugh like crazy at all of them. But the news ones are totoally different. It amazes me that no one in America seems to be able to make that distinction. The Larry David "touch" is gone, and with it the creative comedy.

I watched this episode and yada yada yada it sucked.
Was not the greatest... but the fact that George kept finding Jerry no matter where he was.. .(Dentist - Confessional) was very well done. Just my opinion. Craig S.

Unfunny whore? Yikes. Elaine's absent-minded blurting out of her friend's short temper had me rolling, as well as her seduction of the interviewer. If you remember that Elaine is a fictional character and just laugh at the situations she gets into, you'll enjoy the show a lot more.
You're right -- Jerry doesn't have a brain when it comes to Catholics, and that's what made this episode so funny. Calling a nun "Mother", sitting on a kneeler, and knocking on the confessional door were all idiotic things he did that produced some the episode's biggest laughs.
George not neurotic??? You must have gone to get a drink or something during the parts where he obsessed over his girlfriend's "yada yada"ing over her ex-boyfriend's visit.
One more thing -- "The Limo" is an example of a show about nothing? Isn't that the episode where Jerry and George pretend to be prominent Neo-nazi leaders and end up getting stuck in a limo with gun-wielding bigots? Yup, the show about nothing.

The Simpsons is a good analogy. Throughout the years, the Simpsons have become more wacky, surreal, subversive, and twisted. And better.
Undoubtedly personal taste. The early Simpsons is amusing to me, but only for a historical perspective to see how the show has evolved. I find little of early Simpsons (and Seinfeld -- see, I am on topic) extremely funny, while I find the later stuff, especially the current seasons, of both shows to be the best TV there ever has been.

A few episodes this season have been as you've described, notably "The Pothole" and "The English Patient," but "The Yada Yada" in my opinion, was probably the best and most about "nothing" (that is, human interaction, as someone else here clarified) that we've had this season. The whole episode was great, with Jerry obsessing over Whatly's conversion for jokes, and George's klepto girlfriend. I must admit that Elaine has become something of a slut, but it was funny anyway. The ending was classic--possibly one of the best of any season. Beth's offhand "Not to mention the blacks and the Jews" and Jerry's expression came as a complete surprise and a perfect ending to the Anti-dentite theme. Once again Seinfeld deals with a major issue in a humorous way.
But why is every male character suddenly dating twenty year-olds??? Kramer and Mickey's girlfriends looked like they were barely of legal age!
I beg to differ. That episode was one of the funniest I've seen this
season. With the exception of Elaine's, every plot arch was hilarious.

The writers haven't destroyed the show; they have run out of nothing. They should have stopped the show last season and quit while it was ahead.
