Man, I love the Internet!

In trying to comfirm that I had first seen Michael Richards in the comedy series "Fridays" in the '80s, I found that he did in fact. He played a "wacko" who delighted in setting up battlefields with toy soldiers then smashing them with evil glee. http://us.imdb.com/Name?Richards,+Michael

I also discovered that "Fridays" http://us.imdb.com/Title?%22Fridays%2+(1980) was directed by a Tom Kramer, that Melanie Chartoff, George's girlfriend in "The Fire" and "The Finale", and Larry David were cast members on "Fridays", and by links discovered that Jason Alexander and Robert DeNiro are cast as the voices of Boris Badanov and Fearless Leader in the movie "The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle" http://us.imdb.com/Title?Adventures+of+Rocky+and+Bullwinkle,+The+(1999) scheduled for production in 1999.

My editor clipped the dates (1980) and (1999) for the last two links which must be added to connect to these sites.

On balance, "Fridays" was not that bad. The segment on the clubbing of Sesame Street characters in order to make fur was one of the funniest things I've seen.

Yeah. Live action with Rocky & Bullwinkle done completely on computers. So Alexander and DeNiro will be live characters.

I wish Alexander would do another grown-up role. He was pretty good in Love, Valour, Compassion, but he hasn't stretched far from the kiddie movies, in the leading role sense. I think it's killing his chances. I mean to me, "Dunston Checks In" wouldn't look too good on your resume if you're looking for a major adult part.

Michael Richards also played in a "Pinnochio" film in the late 70's with Danny Kaye.

Yeah, the main thing I remember about Fridays, besides trying to contrive ways to make it up to 1:30 am, when I seem to remember it coming on, to see it, was that it was hilarious - I can't really remember any of the content specifically, just that the skits seemed to be extremely inventive and clever. I don't know if this is the prevailing conventional thinking on the series since then.....maybe they'll show 'em on Comedy Central one day. I do remember one featuring the whole cast going door-to-door to ask people if they recognized them.

I only remember liking it better than SNL, but not as much as SCTV. I do remember KISS making a tv appearance on it doing stuff off "Music From the Elder"

The only thing I remember about the show is the actress Melaine Chartoff. What a great name to stick in a persons mind, I don't think I will ever forget that name. She had a role in one episode of Seinfeld but I don't remember it well enough to describe it.
