Watching "The Gymnast" for the upteenth time, I noticed Kramer comes in with a video and says, "Behold, the Games of the '84 Olympiad!"

Question: How could a Romanian gymnast have competed in the '84 Olympics which were boycotted by the Soviet bloc countries?

Romania was the only east european country not to boycot the LA olimpic games in 84.

Actually, if you re-watch the episode, check to see if he says "84" the FIRST time. Now, I know for sure Kramer's tape is of the 84 Olympics, but both my husband and I thought that when Jerry first mentions he's dating a gymnast, he said "silver medal at the 88 Olympics". Any tapers out there, check it out - was it a continuity error, or are my hubby and I deranged (I am open to both options!)

The Romanians under Ceaucescu were the "better communists" :) since they as the only (?) Eastern bloc country did not boycott the games.
