Did anybody catch Everybody Loves Raymond this week? At the end of the show it had Ray and his brother in his car both start singing "War, what is it good for?" Coincidence?

Umm... that's a REAL song. Where's the connection? They never sang it on Seinfeld, except for Elaine who just sang the two lines? Where is the connection? How do you know it's not a reference to another show or another movie that the characters sang the song?

The song is "War" by Edwin Starr, a #1 hit in 1970. I doubt the Raymond episode was referring to Seinfeld's use of the song, as it is quite famous in its own right. Okay, I guess this was too much of a stretch. All I was thinking was that they had gotten the idea to use the song from Seinfeld, because it was a song whose existence was completely unheard of to me except for the Seinfeld reference. I don't doubt that it is a real song, but I guess I bombed this time. Sorry
Actually, as frightening as it may sound, I had actually heard the song before. No, I didn't live through that era, unless it was from the late eighties :) No, my family does not play oldies constantly. Yes, I had heard it before NBCs "The 60's". Okay, doesn't really matter, but hey, I posted, so there!
