"Seinfeld" offends Irish step-dancers

The season-ending 5/15 episode of "Seinfeld" had a couple of running gags about people holding their arms at their sides while involved in various forms of movement, such as tap-dancing. These jokes, especially the latter one, can only be a thinly-veiled reference to traditional Irish step-dancing.

As a person of Celtic-American descent in solidarity with those who practice the various forms of Gaelic or Celtic folk traditions, whether in the conventional festive costumes or in those slinky off-the-shoulder numbers with black fish-net stockings, I want to express how DEEPLY OFFENDED I was by this mockery! I can just imagine the humiliation and shame Michael Flatley or Jean Butler must feel now. In fact, I can just imagine Jean Butler in that slinky off-the-shoulder number with the black fish-net stockings.

But that's not the point! Only a direct apology, and a symbolic act of genuine contrition -- such as buying me a couple of six-packs of Harp -- will erase the terrible pain I feel from this brutal slap in the face of my culture.

Actually, on second thought, I won't insist on the direct apology, but the symbolic act of genuine contrition part would be really great. If they could throw in an extra six-pack, though, I'd appreciate it.

I sincerely hope that you are kidding, as you led me too believe with your comments about free beer. If not, I must file you away with the same idiots who were offended by the "Puerto Rico" episode.

Maybe we should combine our strength to get more beer out of them (Harp would be fine with me too) - the scenes with Mr Vegetable Lasagna, a Norwegian, was very offensive. Not only did the character use a "funny" accent, there were also erroneous statements about our currency (and kroner was badly mispronounced - I'm willing to forgive Julia 'Nip' Louis-Dreyfus for that if she sends me a Christmas card). And of course, the Puerto Rican flag that was burnt in a later episode was in the Norwegian colours - red, white and blue - clearly, they did not burn the Puerto Rican flag, but rather hinted at burning the Norwegian flag.

I think we have a good case here, and if this sparks off some kind of Hiberno-Norwegian unity in the USA, we could get truckloads of beer out of this, not just a few sixpacks.
