Dear "Seinfeld" Show,

I just got through watching your show with the "shiksappeal" theme. I am completely disguested with your using a theme that could have been written by a white supremacist lunatic. You wouldn't have a show with the theme about how black men go after white women, would you?

Your show has gotten steadily less and less funny over time. I continued to watch, out of habit, loyalty, and the hope that things would improve. It is a sign of your desperation that you would resort to the same sort of tactics that do the daytime talk shows.

"Seinfeld" used to be one of the few shows in the morass of garbage on TV I would watch. No longer.

Calm down, you've had your buttons pushed unintentionally--the show is written, produced and acted predominately by those of Jewish ancestry (judging from last names). This is not anti-semitic, it is self-deprecating humor. If you can't make fun of yourself, your own kind, who can you make fun of? Jewish comedians have been making fun of the attraction of the "other" for generations. It's SATIRE. Sorry for the sermon, but you're way off base here in my opinion.

I know that in American society today it seems that if you "belong" to the group being insulted, that's ok but not otherwise. I don't accept that. But if you remember they DID an episode on this -- the one with Tim Watley converting to Judaisim. What's wrong with making jokes about your own religion or race? Do you want people to just lose all sense of humor about themselves? What's the point of living if you can't laugh at yourself? I don't find it insultig in the least when someone I know is jewish is making jokes about us. Why do you find it insulting to make fun of your OWN group of people? Jason

Well, I hate to break the news to the Jewish members of the group under the age of 50-60, but in the era before the 50% intermarriage rate for American Jews, non-Jewish women did have a special appeal for some Jewish men, just ask your grandfathers or grandmothers. Do you think Woody Allen made this up from thin air? Remember, Woody is now in his 60's. The portrayal, while comic and exaggerated is based upon utterly real events. The appeal of the "shiksa" was the well known one of the "forbidden other." Don't any of you remember your teens or twenties (grin). It doesn't just apply to Jews obviously. Ask a first generation immigrant from China how most of them would feel about their sons marrying a non-Chinese (no intent to pick on the Chinese, just one of many possible examples). Where do you think the comic or real expression "I have no son!!!" comes from in most ethnic/religious groups? I'm sorry, but anyone who thought this show or plot was particularly unrealistic or ant-semitic just hasn't read about or experienced real prejudice or hatred. If you can't stand a little ribbing, you'll just have to move to a country where only one way of thinking is allowed and diversity is forbidden.

The person that commented that the cast and crew of Seinfeld is Jewish is right. The show is written & directed etc.... by Jews. They are having fun. How many times do black people make fun of their own people. It is the same thing. I am Hispanic. Every time I hear a Hispanic comedian make fun of other Hispanics I laugh. It is funny. What do they say it is O.K. for someone of a certain race to make fun of that race, but someone outside of that race better not dare. Like I said the cast and crew of Seinfeld are just having fun. Huh? I think the Leo Frank case is the only documented instance of an American Jew being lynched. He was, probably falsely, charged with the rape and murder of a girl, TTBOMR* shanghaied, and finally hanged.

In essence I agree that the tightass who wrote the e-mail to NBC was wrong if not ridiculous. The scene where the Bar Mitzvah boy french kisses Elaine was one of the funniest I've seen on Seinfeld in a while. To turn it into an issue of Political CorRectitude is sad.

*If you can figure this acronym you've earned my humble admiration.

I feel that it is a valid analogy. Nazi propaganda contained numerous depictions of Jews raping or otherwise sexually preying upon "Aryan" women. The white supramecists in this country draw both their propaganda and inspiration from the Nazis.

In fact, this sort of direct appeal to feelings of sexual competetion is a widespread and unfortunately effective method of spreading bigotry. It has been used around the world about many different groups, not just blacks or jews.

This show has always poked fun at Judaism... They can do that, cuz THEY ARE JEWISH!! Tere have been tons of episodes like that one. remember the one about Circumsision where Jerry gets his finger circumsised by the moyle?... or the one where George is mistaken as head of the KKK?.. or where Jerry and his girlfriend get cought making out at Schindler's List?
