What happened?

Hi all, I used to have a huge crush on Elaine a few seasons back, but I saw something in one of the last episodes that put a sour taste in my mouth. When George off handedly quips to a couple who's love was on the rocks "You could have done better that him..."or words to that affect. and the couple breaks up, Elaine was dancing in Jerry's apartment because she wanted a shot at this guy. I thought it was shallow, stupid, and not very nice. Almost worthy of a friends cast member. I can expect that from Jerry, he's kind of shallow, but Elaine...Elaine Elaine.... I really don't think this is working out. Peace Gordo

Elaine's character has gotten progressively crueler over the course of the show.

If you thought Elaine was anything other than petty all along, you weren't watching closely. I mean, she's got some mitigating factors which George and Jerry don't, but I attribute that to her femininity. Sorry if this back-handed compliment offends anyone, but I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

That is so true; someone mentioned that in an article in the TV Guide recently and I have to agree. However, don't those characters do a lot of things that we'd love to try if we could just get away with it? ;-) Lois
