Fans discuss whether Jerry mispronounces "Lippman" as "Littman" in The Serenity Now, debating if it's intentional character work or a mishearing affected by Elaine eating/drinking.

Regarding Mr. Lippman, Richard Fancy's character's name. In one of Jerry's kind of "lost" moments, doesn't he call Lippman, Littman? 'Thought I heard it the other night & it seems consistent with Elaine's next line.

159 The Serenity Now (toward the end):

J: Elaine?

E: Uhh, Jerry, I've got a lot goin' on with, uh, Lippman right now.

J: Littman? (scripts say Lippman)

E: Yeah, and him too. What?! Oh, yeah! I think George is calling me, so I'm gonna go give him a hand. Come on! Come on!

J: Can I help you?

E: No. Stay! Stay. Stay.

but wasn't elaine eating or drinking something during the "littman" word - thus, possibly, affecting the pronunciation??

Elaine says it correct. Then Jer say's "Littman," and since Elaine follows up w/ the sarcastic "yeah him too" it seems she acknowledges that Jer says it wrong, she's just trying to get out because Jerry was in that delirious and philosophical mode, he was just asking Elaine to marry him, so his mis-pronunciation emphasized this.

(My reason for stumbling onto this minutia was someone I know thought he was Littman & this is where I found the possible source of confusion.)

It's normal for Jerry. He can care less. He referred to FARBMAN (as in Carl Farbman furniture, Elaine's Desperado deal) as..........."Fleckman".
