Emmy nominations

I saw the Emmy nominations announced this morning and Jerry is up for best actor in a comedy. Don't know about support- ing folks.

BTW -- I know this isn't the right group, but did "The Simpsons" get nominated for best comedy? NBC radio news mentioned this morning that animated shows can now be nominated for regular categories, not just best animated series.

Alas, I have a feeling that Seinfeld will lose out to Cheers for best comedy. Cheers will get it for sentimental reasons.

Tim Allen did get nominated, but what I want to know is who is Bill Erwin who got a nomination for Best Guest star for a Seinfeld episode.

i think its Bill Irwin. Bill Irwin played the Flying Man in the travelling circus troupe that visited Cicely Alaska on Northern Exposure. he returned to that show as the charming mute Fluing Man again, only now with some toilet-paper theater group. and he found his voice. i have heard that he was in some cop movie as the other cop in the car. i think he's been an FBI agent somewhere as well....

now - what was that seinfeld episode - i do remember recognizing him....

I was under the impression that the guest star nominated for "Seinfeld" was Jerry's old man from last night's episode.

I think you're right -- I seem to remember seeing a "Bill Erwin" flash by during the closing credits.
