What is significant about the references to Kramer's jacket in The Cheever Letters? I know he gave it to a Cuban diplomat in exchange for cigars, but am I missing something else? The studio audience seemd to pick up on something that I did not.

Throughout season three Kramer's jacket was the base or obstical in many episodes: George IQ test was screwed up because Elaine couldn't bring it back to him because she and kramer were holdup in Jerry's apartment when the man who owned the jacket was trying to get it from Kramer. Then he and Elaine retrieved it in another show when she pretended to be the guy's daughter. Then George's big nosed girlfriend got a really good nose job after they broke up. Kramer went out with her, which he believed was due to having the jacket back.
