Let's see. He was the street vendor in "The Gum" who refused George's 20-dollar bill. He was Frank Costanza's lawyer in "The Chinese Woman." He was the voice of the man who ordered the kosher meal in "The Airport." He was the voice of George Steinbrenner from "The Opposite," when George was hired as the Yankees' assistant to the traveling secretary, through "The Muffin Tops," when George was traded to Tyler Chicken. I think there are a couple of others - anyone?

I think any time NY Yankees boss Steinbrenner is a character in the show and you hear his voice, its really Larry David.

No? Someone asked a question and instead of answering it, you berated him. So I asked you a question I knew you couldn't answer and I berated you in advance. See it yet?

Some of us don't attach that much importance to Entertainment Industry financial news. Some people actually JUST watch the show and laugh at it and don't dig much deeper. Many "Seinfeld" fans don't have a clue who Larry David is, beyond the fact that his name pops up during the credits.

So, since he's seen the show before, you felt the need to insult him. That's nice.

I think if you make it to a certain age, and you're not living in a shack with a pig, you are expected to know certain things about pop culture. Knowing who Madonna is. Of course, Larry David isn't nearly as well known as her, but he is one of the co-founders of the most influential sitcom of the 1990's. For instance, I've never seen "Touched by an Angel", but I know who Roma Downey is.

Excuse me if I'm disturbing the two of you in some sort of a private controversy, but perhaps Mr. Nusair, who's obviously running a film site, is a little more enlightened than the common man on the issue of manuscript writing and co-producing a show and feels a need to heckle new Seinfeld viewers. Has it ever occured to you that maybe the guy who asked who Larry was (Dugster) only has seen the last two seasons, in which Larry David didn't participate at all (except for "The Finale")? You can't know for sure, and therefor you shouldn't condemn him.

I think it was his share of the show after the complete run was sold to syndication. He and Jerry were the co-creators and producers and the whole deal went for millions and millions. I obviously welcome any corrections to the above statements.

Sorry. Must have been channeling the more negative spirits in this newsgroup.

Where was I?  Right.  Last month, when "Seinfeld" was sold, in it's
entirety, into syndication (Ted Turner bought it, BTW), Larry David's
chunk of the profit came so several hundred million dollars.  This
bumped him up to the 2nd highest paid entertainment industry person (I
can't really call him an entertainer) for the year.
