I was just watching an episode of Friends (what can I do Seinfelds only on once a week) and the whole show was the biggest, I mean the biggest, rip off of Seinfeld I have ever witnessed. Here's some of the evidence I have complied off the top of my head, if you've seen the offending show then please contribute. Perphaps they could go to court and one of you might get called as an expert witness. Wouldn't that be cool, "So Mr Smith you say you are and expert on the television show Seinfeld....." pretty intense stuff.
Anyway here are my list of atrocities:
1. The premise of the show is that Ross is giving a big speech and he is waiting for everyone to get ready. Kinda like the Movie, or The Chinese Resturant and numerous other shows that are really about nothing.
2. Several references are made about not wearing under-wear or "Going Commando", not only is this like when Kramer didn't wear underwear but also the whole idea of giving somthing a nickname, "I am master of my domain". (NB. If this is a common US expression I'm sorry, but it still smacks of cheating)
3. Chandler for no reason started talking about Donald Duck not wearing pants, as if that's such a funny observation. Which is not at all like Jerry and George discussing dumb stuff like canned fruit and Superman's Super humor.
4. Chandler hides Joey's underwear and Joey says he's going to do the opposite and wears all Chandler's clothes. They then get into a big agument whether this is the opposite of that. Just like what is the opposite of tuna on toast, (What is it by the way?)
5. Monica pissing about with her ex-boyfriend's answer-phone and the whole who has the upper hand in the post breck up thing. Just like Elaine and Jake Jarmel (sic0.
I sure there are more, not just in this episode but in the whole series, it would be interesting if you can think of any.
It's like Sweden, man.
