I don't know what season your local station airs, but mine just got done with season 6 tonight, and they're by far my favorites. They have plenty of brief previous episode references, which are quite funny actually (normally I don't like those).
Time to go downhill with the George/Susan saga starting. :-(
My favorite seasons go: 4, 5, and 6. 7 is fairly good too, but then 8 and 9 I could definitely do without. Also, seasons in seasons 1 and 2, the show hadn't quite found itself yet.

This seems to be the consensus of most Seinfeld fans. Still, I think that season's 8 and 9 have their upsides. Not directly consistant plot lines, but here and there are hilarious moments. Here are some my favorite scenes from season 8 and 9:
The Abstinence Kramer: My face is all craggly, it's crinkly. Jerry: It's from all that smoke. You've experienced a lifetime of smoking in 72 hours. What did you expect? Kramer: Emphysema, birth defects, cancer. But not this. Jerry, my face is my livelihood. Everything I have I owe to this face. Jerry: And your teeth, your teeth are all brown. Kramer: Look away, I'm hideous.
The Susie GEORGE: Yeah! Yeah. Hey--hey you, you know.. Maybe I'll call you sometime. KRAMER: George, it's over. It's just.. It's Over. [leaves] GEORGE: What do you think, Jerry. JERRY: I don't know, I just see you guys together.
The Yada Yada Mr. Abbott: That's Dr. Abbott, D.D.S. Tim Whatley was one of my students. And if this wasn't my son's wedding day, I'd knock you teeth out you anti-dentite bastard. Beth: What was that all about? Jerry: Oh, I said something about dentists and it got blown all out of proportion. Beth: Hey, what do you call a doctor who fails out of med school? Jerry: What? Beth: A dentist. (They laugh) Jerry: That's a good one. Dentists. Beth: Yeah, who needs 'em? Not to mention the Blacks and the Jews. (Jerry fakes a smile) % A little later. Elaine: Where's Beth? The Millennium JERRY: By the way Newman, I'm just curious. When you booked the hotel, did you book it for the millennium New Year? NEWMAN: (smug) As a matter of fact, I did. JERRY: Oh, that's interesting, because as everyone knows, since there was no year zero, the millennium doesn't begin until the year two- thousand and one. Which would make your party, one year late, and thus, quite lame.
The Serenity Now George: You wanna sell computers? I will show *you* how to sell computers! Hello, Mr. Farneman. You wanna buy a computer? No? Why not? All right, I see! Good answer! Thank you! (Lloyd rings his sale bell) Serenity now!
The Wizard George: "Speak now, or we are headed to the Hamptons. It's a two-hour drive. Once you get in that car, we are going all the way... to the Hamptons. All right, you wanna get nuts? Come on. Let's get nuts!"
The Strongbox Jerry: "Kramer!?" Kramer: "What?" Jerry: "You killed Fredo!" Kramer: "Fredo was weak and stupid. He shouldn't've eaten that key." Jerry: "Kramer, I need those cufflinks, but now they're in the box, and the key is in the bird. What are we gonna do?" Kramer: "You just answered your own question." Jerry: "Oh, no." Kramer, walking towards his apartment: "I'll get the shovel."
The Maid JERRY: Well, what street are you on? KRAMER: Hey, I'm on first and first. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe. JERRY: Just wait there. I'll pick you up, and, Kramer, stay alive no matter what occurs, I will find you!
Thats when it really starts to take off!! There are some excellent episodes in all the seasons, but 7 & 8 and some of 9 is outstanding.
I recently saw the pilot, it was OK, but the stakeout is terrible, not one funny moment, luckily it god a lot better very quickly, otherwise I think we might have been stuck with on 5 episodes!
