Rating for "The Junk Mail"

I liked this episode. There were a couple of really dumb things in it that I didn't like, though, like Fragile Frankie Merman going into the woods to sit in his hole and the Wiz. I found neither that interesting. -What I did like was Kramer's interest in the van: "...A big...juicy...van."

-Kramer's anti-mail campaign, "Now I'm gonna have to stop it at the choke point!" "Stop the mail!?" "...THAT's even better!"

"...They have gone too far! They keep pushing me and pushing me...now I have no choice but to go down there....and talk to them!"

"Mail blows! Fax it to a friend!" "Why is he wearing a bucket?" "Because we're blind to their tyranny." "Then shouldn't YOU be wearing the bucket?" "Yeah, move along, Betty."

-Kramer and the Postmaster General "Imagine...an army of people in ? pants going around the neighborhood handing out pottery catalogs." "Hehehe." "But it's my job. And I'm pretty damn serious about it."

"You can see why I get agitated when people take me away from my golf." "I'm sorry. I'm very very sorry." "In addition to being a postmaster, I'm a general. And it's the job of a general to by god get things done! There's a pile of mail out there. Now you want that mail, don't you?" "You bet!"

George and Frankie: "Seinfeld's van! Seinfeld's van!" "Oh my god, I think he's saying Son of Sam! I knew it wasn't Berkowitz!"

Funny episode, but several problems. I give it a 7

This episode was pretty lame, even for a final season one. It gets a 3.0 from me.

Kramer/postal storyline was too contrived.

Elaine/Wiz thread left me cold.

The character of Fragile Frankie bothered me...he was too sit-commy.

And, as was often the case in Season 9, Jerry was too meek. Would the guy who dressed down the woman at the car-rental counter (when his reservation was lost) or who often took glee in George's personal failures really have trouble telling Frankie he didn't want the van, or care if Frankie ran into Central Park to live in a hole? I don't think so.

Hi, I'm fairly new to the group.

I love this idea of rating them.

I give The Junk Mail a 6. Its a good solid episode, but its not a classic imo. You gotta love Kramer's expression after he slams down the catalogs and yells at the pottery barn. Definatly great. The van thing was never resolved fully, and we hear nothing else about George's parents moving all of his things out with the van.

Who knows.

Damn entertaining though...gotta love it.

An okay episode. Favorite moments were :

- Knock, knock, knock. "Chinese food ".
   "That's my Chinese food. I gotta go".
   And George's parents using the same trick.

• Elayne : "When this van's a-rockin', don't come a-knockin'." Jerry : "Always helpful".

-Kramer : "A big, juicy van".

• Kramer facing the postmaster general.

- The last scene with George opening the van door to find his parents inside.
   "Oh my god !"
   "Oh my god !"
    " Now you're gonna have to sell this van."
    "Oh yeah."

• Jerry's glee while showing Elayne who Jack actually was.

I give it a 6.5 .

jerry filmed that movie cause the guy had a gun..than he developed a rush after being prasied for it...okay george detoriated over the years..i liked the running car theme in season 9....this was a * * 1/2 episode mainly cause i love the whole mailman thing...shouldnt the bucket be on your head???? keith

I got the impression that Jerry figured pretending to go overboard was about the only way he could get out of his arrangement with the gun wielding psycho, Brody.

If he had simply refused to shoot the movie, there's to telling what might have happened, he might even have gotten shot over it. But to pretend that he was a master filmmaker, asking for extra camera guys in the balcony and radios to keep them all in contact, knowing full well that a bootlegging operation cannot be that overt, Jerry was escaping through the only loophole he could find.

I love the way Elaine is swept off her feet by the Wiz in those scene in the Coffee Shop. A good moment is when she calls Puddy: " Puddy we're thru , that's right."

Aanother funny moment I like is when George seduces his cousin just to have his parents mad at him only to have her go along with him.

All in all I think it's one of the weakest from Season 9 ( and I am a fan of the last seasons) so I'll give it a lukewarm 5 out of 10

The only good thing about this episode is with George saying, "I think he said Son of Sam! I knew it wasn't Berkowitz!" or something like that. One of the weakest episodes of the entire series.

I don't understand what the problem is. One guy said that the only good line was the Berkowitz line, so this guy just made a joke saying "yeah, move along, Betty" because it was another funny line in the show. You guys didn't catch that?
