Thread discusses the fictional country of origin for characters Latka and Simka from the TV show Taxi, with replies suggesting Latvia, Balkan states, or an imaginary country.

I know this is the wrong group, but this question has been bugging me: In the TAXI series, what country was Latka (& Simka) from? (And please don't say Mipos...)

I'm pretty sure it was Latvia.

I very much doubt it was Latvia.

I think it was one of the Balkan states(ie. Albania, Yugoslavia,etc)

As I recall, it was an imaginary country, if that helps.
