Best part of the last show was the camera pulling away from the four in a stark prison cell as they endlessly discussed "shirt buttons, cell etiquette" etc. etc. Just a nice visual image of what the four characters will in fact do for eternity in syndication...stagnant, trapped not going anywhere...
Also the nod to the first scene of the first show in the last scene of the last show, was nice.
Other nice moments were seeing Jerry do standup at the start of the episode.
Another nice moment was when I realized, all four had been put in prison for literally the crime of 'doing nothing'...
Of course speculation will abound as to whether the show will return after a 1 year hiatus...I hope not, this was a nice ending...maybe not the funniest episode, but a fitting one I thought, its the only Seinfeld episode I've ever seen, that ever attempted (however meekly) to make a small statement, and as a result, I enjoyed it.
The statement? I think it was this: I think essentially the writers, put the entire show on trial and came away with 'guilty'. As in, we've seen it all, and the characters and the show are just stagnant now, so lets lock the show away and never look back...so the four are lost forever, in a cell to disuss buttons, cereal, cell phones, for the rest of their syndicated lives...
