The mystery guest sketch on tonight's Late Show with David Letterman sent me back about 9 years when a local radio station here in Seattle--KXRX, now defunct--did something similar. The DJ was taking calls from listeners to guess the identity of her interviewee; one caller suggested it was Dan Quayle. I was delighted when I got through on the phone. I knew it was Jerry Seinfeld!
I didn't get any prizes, but Jerry said over the air, "I'm impressed." I said, "Thank you," Jerry laughed and the disc jockey disconnected me.
That's my "brush with greatness."
